Dr Malavika’s work experience as a mental health and human services professional has included exciting roles and continuous learning. Working in diverse cultures and environments due to her husband’s transferable job has inculcated a holistic view of human difficulties, potential and problem-solving.
While in India, she combined professional practice with teaching assignments at premier educational institutions and worked as HOD of Masters program in social work. She has also worked with corporates as a therapist and trainer through Employee assistance programs. (EAPs). As a mental health practitioner, she has worked with individuals of all ages facing interpersonal and intrapersonal challenges.
As an educational therapist in Singapore, she has worked with about 300 of the academically most challenged students providing holistic remedial experience combining the therapeutic skills of brain re-wiring with the soft skills of counselling and support.
She is a Fellow of Register of Educational Therapists (Asia), Member Special Education Network in Asia (SENIAS) and is an ACTA certified trainer.
She loves to travel with her family and nothing energises her more than the sounds of laughter.
