We utilize standardized assessment tools and methodology which are internationally recognized to understand the social, emotional, academic and behavioural individual needs of each child. Psychological evaluations with the children’s and adolescent’s division of Promises cater to children from the age of 12 months to 17 years 11 months.

These evaluations serve varied purposes for the child at an individual and school level. They can be used to:

  • Provide an overview of the child’s cognitive and academic profile of strengths and, areas for further development
  • Identify learning disabilities and, subsequently skills to be targeted through treatment and included Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Identify academic giftedness
  • Determine psychiatric and educational diagnosis influencing academic and personal growth
  • Understand social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
  • Identify areas and make referrals to appropriate agencies for treatment/therapy including early intervention programs
  • Apply for special examination and classroom accommodations for MOE and International
  • Assess readiness for school and identify appropriate school placement
  • Evaluate readiness for mainstream Integration for children with special needs

At Promises we offer evaluations for a variety of clinical and educational disorders which may be influencing your child’s social, emotional, behavioural and academic development. These include:
