Profile
Monica has over 15 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She provides psychological assessment and therapy on a broad range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. She has a special interest in trauma recovery, resilience and psychosocial oncology. She is a registered clinical psychologist and approved supervisor with Singapore Psychological Society.
Prior to joining the private sector, she worked in the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) for most of her career and she was an educator with MOE for several years.

Monica has over 15 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. She provides psychological assessment and therapy on a broad range of emotional and behavioural difficulties including (but not limited to) depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment, attachment, parenting difficulties and family issues. She has experience in conducting court- mandated forensic assessments for violent and sexual offenders.
She is passionate about improving personal well-being and restoring relationships; as well as effecting meaningful change. She adopts a person-centred, strength-based and collaborative approach in her work. As a therapist, she believes in the adaptive power of the human spirit to heal and that change is possible. She has a special interest in post-traumatic growth, resilience and psychosocial oncology.
She is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Reality Therapy (RT).
Prior to joining the private sector, she worked in the Clinical and Forensic Psychology Service (CFPS) in MSF; and she was an educator with the Ministry of Education (MOE) for several years. Currently, she is an adjunct lecturer in Psychology at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and provides clinical supervision. She also provides training and consultation to organizations.
She is a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS). She is registered with the Singapore Register of Psychologists and is an approved Supervisor with SPS. She is proficient in conducting assessments and therapy in English.
In her free time, Monica enjoys baking, sewing and being with Nature. There is much wisdom in this saying: Work is part of life. Life is more than work.
