Profile
Yana has significant experience working with children and adolescents. She also has extensive experience in providing counselling in multiple languages to adults. She has helped people with anxiety, depression, stress management, cultural adjustment, life transitions, grief and loss, complex trauma, etc.
Yana holds a Masters Degree in Social Sciences (Counselling) from the University of South Australia. She is a Master Solution Focused Practitioner and a Certified Advanced Solution-Focused Coach. She holds a Graduate and Post Graduate Certificate in Expressive Therapies and a Certificate in Sandplay Therapy. Yana has over 15 years of experience as a counsellor and is a Registered Counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).

Originally from Latin America, Yana has spent over 30 years in Asia (Singapore and Japan). She can provide counselling in English, Spanish and Japanese (she also understands well Portuguese and French). Her multicultural background and experiences allow her to empathize with clients from different cultures.
In her psychotherapeutic work, Yana integrates various trauma-informed and strength-based approaches, including Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Expressive Therapies, Mindfulness-Based Family Constellations, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Attachment-Focused EMDR and Brainspotting, depending on the individual needs of clients. Yana also has a Diploma in Yoga Teaching and a background in dance and dance therapy, which allows her to include relaxation and visualization techniques, body awareness, and movement in her practice.
Her focus is helping her clients to process emotions that are blocking their journeys and to get in touch with their strengths and resilience in order to better face future challenges of their lives.
Yana enjoys connecting with family and friends during her free time, reading and dancing.
