Jun Lynn is a Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families across a range of emotional, developmental, and behavioural difficulties. She has experience across educational and hospital settings, supporting children and adolescents with complex socio-emotional and behavioural needs, as well as adults presenting with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma-related difficulties, and personality disorders.

Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, and understanding how developmental experiences, relationships, and adversity can shape the ways individuals cope with difficulties. She has a particular interest in working with complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and borderline personality disorder (BPD), while also supporting children, adolescents, and families with the challenges that can arise across different stages of development.

  • Master of Psychology (Clinical)
  • Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)
  • Registered Clinical Psychologist with Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP)
  • Member of Singapore Psychological Society (SPS)

Jun Lynn graduated from James Cook University (Singapore) with a Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Psychology (Clinical), and is a Registered Psychologist with the Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP). She also has a background in education, with experience supporting children and adolescents in both local and international school settings.

Her earlier work in education brought her into close contact with children with diverse developmental, emotional, and behavioural needs, as well as the families and professionals supporting them. In an international school setting, she worked as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting children with complex socio-emotional and behavioural difficulties, including children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, intellectual disability, and oppositional defiant disorder, as well as children presenting with trauma-related difficulties.

Her work focused on helping children access the curriculum and participate meaningfully in school through the least restrictive means possible. She collaborated with teachers, families, and other professionals to advocate for children’s needs through Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), targeted individual and group sessions, and crisis support.

These experiences shaped her interest in understanding behaviour within its wider emotional, developmental, relational, and environmental context. They also gave her an appreciation of the challenges parents can face when trying to understand and respond to a child whose behaviour or emotional needs may be difficult to make sense of. In her work with parents, Jun Lynn seeks to explore not only the child’s needs and behaviour, but also the parent’s own experiences, beliefs, emotional responses, and relational patterns. This allows her to support parents in making sense of challenging interactions, understanding what may be contributing to them, and finding ways of responding that are both supportive of the child and sustainable for the parent.

Her clinical experience spans children, adolescents, young adults, and adults across educational and hospital settings. In the hospital setting, she has worked primarily with individuals aged 18 and above across both inpatient and outpatient services, supporting people presenting with anxiety, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, trauma-related difficulties, and personality disorders. Her clinical interests include complex trauma, post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and borderline personality disorder (BPD). Her work has also involved caregivers where appropriate.

In her work with clients, she considers how trauma and adverse experiences may affect emotional regulation, relationships, sense of safety, and patterns of coping, while working at a pace that is appropriate to the individual. She draws on this understanding alongside evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients make sense of their experiences and develop more flexible ways of responding.

Her therapeutic approach is tailored to the needs and goals of each client and draws from a range of therapeutic approaches and frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, psychodynamic approaches, Social Thinking, DIRFloortime, and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).

Beyond her clinical work, Jun Lynn has provided trauma-informed training to medical social workers and delivered mental health talks to working professionals in clinical and community settings. Outside of work, Jun Lynn enjoys time in nature and homecooked meals.
