Ning worked in various corporate fields before founding a family life education and consulting centre in China in 2006. While running her centre, she mentored family life coaches and trainers and was involved in crisis recovery efforts among teenagers and families after the massive Sichuan earthquake in 2008 which killed thousands and traumatized millions.
A family life educator for close to two decades, Ning runs a social enterprise that supports Chinese speaking families globally on parenting and marital issues, social integration and emotional well-being. She counsels and coaches clients from aged 20 and up on parenting and family relationships, emotional regulation, transition and adjustments, anger and anxiety, trauma-related issues as well as integrating spirituality with psychological well-being. Ning is particularly passionate about attachment focus work and hopes to guide individuals and families toward lasting healing and transformation.

Ning’s philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that the foundation of society lies in the well-being and development of each individual, followed by the cultivation of harmonious family relationships. When working with families, she views parents as the architects of their children’s lives, with the rest of society serving as supportive collaborators. Ning has developed a parenting curriculum that draws primarily from Baumrind D’s Authoritative Parenting Research, Bowlby J’s Attachment Theory, Ryan RM’s Self-Determination Theory, and Bandura’s Social Cognitive Learning Theory, which she applies to contemporary Chinese families.
She places great importance on the therapeutic relationship, viewing it as a healing space that allows clients to love, feel, and reflect freely, stemming from a secure attachment. She recognizes the pivotal role of cultural influences in the counselling process and employs an integrative approach that includes client-centred therapy, AF-EMDR, solution-focused therapy, schema therapy, and cognitive-behavioural methods. When addressing marital issues, Ning incorporates numerous concepts and tools from Gottman Couple’s Therapy.
Ning makes time to cuddle up with a book or to have a game of mahjong. She is happily married and enjoys chatting with her two adult sons and their friends.
