Rebecca Lim
Intern Counsellor
  • Forensic Consulting
  • Therapists

Rebecca is in the midst of completing the final modules of her Master of Arts in Counselling from the Singapore Bible College. Over the last 1.5 years, she has counselled those struggling with a range of mental health challenges and single parents struggling with complex life transitions.

Valuing each counsellee in their unique challenges and identities, she comes alongside each to support them in uncovering new discoveries as well as writing and living out their new stories. She applies her natural dispositions of empathy, attentiveness to details and systemic perspectives, to customise and integrate suitable ways for each counsellee to grow and flourish.

Rebecca is supervised by Dr Joseph Leong Jern-Yi

  • Certification in Grief Therapy as Meaning Reconstruction (In Progress); Portland Institute for Loss and Transition
  • Master of Arts in Counselling (Final Semester); Singapore Bible College
  • Bachelor of Business (Second Class Honours Upper Division); Nanyang Technological University

While she has completed the required practicum internship hours for her Masters, Rebecca was compelled to practise additional hours as a clinical intern counsellor so as to further apply her therapeutic skills in supporting diverse profiles of counsellees to grow and flourish.

She takes a person-centric approach, always building a trusted and safe therapeutic relationship with her counsellees. With the uniqueness of each counsellee’s context and presenting issue, she is steadfast and resilient, working with counsellees through their diverse challenges as she customises and integrates relevant therapeutic approaches to support them in their growth.

Passionate, purposeful and empathetic, she combines her hopeful disposition with her strength-based approach by journeying alongside others in human flourishing – one on one, in teams and in communities. Alongside her training as a clinical counsellor, she is concurrently also exploring opportunities that are at the intersections of senior care innovations, intergenerational community living and community-led movements to reimagine cradle-to-grave ecosystem builds.

With over two decades of multicultural experience across tourism and social impact sectors, her growing repertoire of leadership and interpersonal skills have strengthened her ability to engage with people across diverse backgrounds and cultures.

For leisure, she enjoys nature walks, cycling, table tennis, travel adventures, trekking in the mountains and community building in her neighbourhood.
