
Henny has experience and training in conducting psychometric assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for a variety of mental health conditions. Having been part of the specialised and multidisciplinary Eating Disorder service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital since 2017, she also has specific expertise in treating children and adolescents with various types of eating disorders.

Henny is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who graduated from University College London (UCL) with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology, and subsequently completed the Master of Psychology (Clinical) joint-degree program from the University of Melbourne and the National University of Singapore.
In her previous role as a senior psychologist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), Henny’s expertise includes inpatient and outpatient care of children and adolescents with a broad range of presenting issues such as depression, self-harm and suicidal behaviours, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosomatic disorders, and complex trauma. She was also part of the specialised and multidisciplinary Eating Disorder service at KKH, with specific training and experience in treating children and adolescents with various types of eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
In addition to overseeing the operations of the Adolescent Psychology Team at KKH as a co-leader, Henny has helped to develop and/or facilitate a variety of group therapy programs and workshops (e.g. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and delivered talks on mental health related issues to other healthcare professionals. She also provided regular clinical supervision to psychologists-in-training as well as practising clinical psychologists.
Henny is trained in psychometric testing as well as a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including family-based treatment (FBT, Maudsley method) for eating disorders, cognitive behavioural-therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). She also has a special interest in compassion-based therapies (e.g. compassion focused therapy, mindful self-compassion).
Henny’s intervention approach is one that is eclectic and she believes in tailoring therapy to best fit the needs of her clients by being flexible and creative in the integration of relevant psychological techniques and theories. She is committed to providing a safe space for clients in therapy to work through their difficulties collaboratively with warmth and curiosity. When engaging with children and adolescents, Henny believes in the importance of working closely with families and schools, while simultaneously empowering her clients to overcome various life challenges.
Having lived abroad in UK and Australia whilst pursuing her education and training, Henny also has first-hand experience and understands the challenges that come with adjusting to different countries and cultures. Henny is able to conduct therapy in both English and Mandarin.
Outside of the therapy room, Henny enjoys travelling, watching musicals and ballets, and treating herself to something sweet.
