Dr Sandor Heng

Dr Sandor Heng is a skilled and experienced dual diagnosis clinician. He has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has worked in both private and public health sectors in Australia and Singapore. Though he describes himself as a behaviourist by heart and was schooled in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, he generally adopts an eclectic approach in treating addictions and mental health. By focusing on a strengths-based approach, he blends evidence-based practice with practice-based evidence to achieve clinical outcomes. He has a special interest in co-occurring disorders (addictive disorders and mental health disorders), and his philosophy of therapy is to be the best version of oneself, which he practices in his own life.

Prior to joining Promises, Dr Heng was the sole psychologist at the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS) in the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for 7 years and was the team lead for the NAMS Inpatient Program. Dr Heng currently sits on the Board of the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) and is the Chair of the Rehab & Reintegration Subcommittee. He is also an Associate Faculty in the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), where he teaches the Addiction Module in the Masters of Counselling Program.

Leow Lilyn

Ms Leow Lilyn has over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, with 18 of those years spent caring for the adult population at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), a tertiary mental health hospital in Singapore. A highly experienced clinician, the focus of Lilyn’s clinical work is with adults suffering from major mental health concerns, including anxiety, trauma, and depression. Lilyn also has a particular interest in working with those suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Lilyn leans heavily on evidence-based practice, and prides herself on ensuring that her patients receive effective mental health treatment. At the same time, she recognizes the struggle of coping with mental health concerns, and works hard to affirm the strong desire people have to take their life back. She believes that the heart of therapy is the collaborative relationship between the patient and the therapist. Hence, she works deliberately to develop a safe and secure environment to ensure the right fit. Lilyn is driven by her desire to empower patients to not be defined by their mental health concerns, and to take control of their own story.

Tom Maniatis

Tom Maniatis has over 20 years of experience in concurrent addiction and mental health treatment delivery, a Senior Addictions Psychotherapist at Promises Healthcare in Singapore, specializing in the targeted treatment of complex behavioral and substance dependencies. Recognized for his clinical expertise in navigating modern psychological challenges, he provides evidence-based interventions for gaming and internet addiction, substance abuse, deep-rooted trauma, and ADHD.

Recovery requires more than simply treating symptoms; it demands addressing the underlying distress. Tom brings a fiercely non-judgmental, person-centered approach to his practice, understanding that addiction and behavioral struggles are often intertwined with burnout, unresolved trauma, or strained family dynamics. By integrating proven therapeutic frameworks, including trauma-informed care and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), he creates a psychologically safe environment where clients can confront core issues without shame.

Working extensively with struggling adolescents, high-stress professionals, and distressed family units, Tom focuses on practical, long-term outcomes. He helps clients dismantle destructive cycles, develop resilient emotional regulation strategies, and rebuild fractured relationships.

Consulting fluently in both English and Greek, Tom partners with his clients to provide the sustainable, real-world tools they need to reclaim agency over their mental health and move forward with clarity and purpose.
