Dr Munidasa Winslow specialises in addiction and impulse control disorders such as alcohol, substance dependence, gambling, gaming and sexual compulsivity amongst others. He is a pioneer in addiction and impulse control disorders in the Asia-Pacific region.
Before founding Promises, Dr Winslow served as chief of the Addiction Medicine Department at IMH. He played a pioneering role in the setting up of the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS).
Dr Terry Spokes is a highly-experienced clinical psychologist who has worked as a director of a number of addiction treatment services in Europe and Asia. He provides psychological therapy to adults who present with a range of mental health concerns, and has specialist interest in the psychological treatment of addiction, trauma and neuropsychological concerns.
Andy Leach is a qualified and highly experienced addiction psychotherapist. His initial training was in psychodynamic therapy, and the skills he now employs with his clients are person-centred. He works with an all addictions model and has a passion for helping clients identify and achieve goals for addiction-free lives. Therapeutic techniques that he employs are CBT, the Minnesota Model, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-informed therapy.
Andy enjoys delivering group therapy as well as individual therapy. He delivers Psycho-education groups as well as Yalom style process groups. In his capacity as Director of Addiction Services for Visions by Promises, he has created & set up the Intensive Outpatient Program. Before joining Visions by Promises, he was Clinical Lead for the Cabin Group in Asia.
Tan Su-Lynn is an educational psychologist with over a decade of experience working with children with special needs during her time at the MOE. Su-Lynn has done much work helping schools to identify and support children with special needs, and consults for schools and parents on learning and behavioural intervention strategies.
Sharmini’s distinctive background in both the performing arts and counselling has ignited a profound interest in psychodrama. She adeptly leads Personal Growth Groups, skillfully integrating elements of bodywork, role play, and creative arts. Additionally, she maintains a consistent schedule of psychodrama workshops. Notably, her dedication is underscored by her extensive training, comprising over 1000 hours of instruction and practice with the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute and AANZPA (Aotearoa Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association). Her expertise earned her the recognition of the American Board of Examiners, certifying her as a proficient practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. She is also an esteemed member of the American Society of Psychodrama and Group Psychotherapy (ASGPP).
Sharmini’s impactful contributions have left a positive imprint across diverse institutions, ranging from healthcare establishments to correctional centres. Employing a holistic approach, she prioritizes stress alleviation and the cultivation of self-awareness within her clientele. Her workshops and mentorship endeavours stand as testaments to her unwavering commitment to professional development, characterized by her distinctive amalgamation of methodologies. Through her innovative integration of AF-EMDR with Psychodrama, she amplifies her capacity for facilitating profound healing. All in all, Sharmini’s fervent dedication to transformation and healing resonates deeply within her impactful body of work.

Dr Sean David Vanniasingham is a consultant psychiatrist experienced in general psychiatry, addiction medicine, and neurostimulation treatment.
Dr David graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery and subsequently attained his post-graduate degree from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. After completing his psychiatry residency training, he practiced as a psychiatrist at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) and the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS).
Dr David has a vast experience in treating patients from both inpatient and outpatient settings. He has treated a wide variety of conditions including depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, psychosis, addictions, stress-related conditions and insomnia. He is also trained in in the practice of neurostimulation treatment modalities such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Dr David is a firm believer of practicing a bio-psycho-social model approach in the holistic and recovery-oriented care of his patients.
Dr David is passionate about the education of young doctors. He was awarded the National Healthcare Group teaching recognition award for medical educators. He has also presented at conferences and given public education talks. Dr David is a fellow at the Academy of Medicine Singapore and is currently serving as an executive committee member of the Singapore Psychiatric Association.
Dr Sandor Heng is a skilled and experienced dual diagnosis clinician. He has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and has worked in both private and public health sectors in Australia and Singapore. Though he describes himself as a behaviourist by heart and was schooled in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, he generally adopts an eclectic approach in treating addictions and mental health. By focusing on a strengths-based approach, he blends evidence-based practice with practice-based evidence to achieve clinical outcomes. He has a special interest in co-occurring disorders (addictive disorders and mental health disorders), and his philosophy of therapy is to be the best version of oneself, which he practices in his own life.
Prior to joining Promises, Dr Heng was the sole psychologist at the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS) in the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for 7 years and was the team lead for the NAMS Inpatient Program. Dr Heng currently sits on the Board of the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) and is the Chair of the Rehab & Reintegration Subcommittee. He is also an Associate Faculty in the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), where he teaches the Addiction Module in the Masters of Counselling Program.
Lohsnah is a Doctoral-level trained Clinical Psychologist with 15 years of working experience. Other than being a practitioner, she is also a passionate educator and trainer.
Lohsnah works with children, adolescents and adults in a range of issues from low self-esteem, to anxiety, depression, and stress management.
Her other area of interest is Intellectual Disability. Other than formal diagnostic assessment, she also works with the family and services to support the person in their emotions and behaviours. She provides guidance for sexuality-related issues too.
Lohsnah is a trained provider of a parenting programme called Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme) and works actively with parents to better support their child/adolescent.
Lohsnah strives to be an authentic and compassionate therapist who is committed to offering her clients a safe, and importantly a non-judgmental space.
Dr. Janice Tan has more than a decade of experience in clinical and forensic mental health. In addition to treating adults, elderly, and adolescents with mental health issues and offending/at-risk behaviours, she is also trained to assess criminal behaviours and is proficient in intelligence testing and personality assessments.
She has headed psychological services in ministries in the public sector and teaches as an adjunct lecturer at the Singapore University of Social Sciences and Singapore Institute of Management. She is also a clinical supervisor at James Cook University Singapore.
As an Addictions Therapist, Gowri is passionate about guiding her clients through life’s challenges and helping them transition to healthier and more fulfilling lives. Her approach is defined by warmth and empathy, providing a non-judgmental and safe space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Gowri finds deep gratification in creating a mutually beneficial therapeutic experience that fosters exploration, learning, and reflection for both therapist and client. She holds a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia, and is registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
